Track your stocks and funds in real time free

Story Highlights

With the rollout of our redesigned USATODAY.com website, we have a new USA TODAY Money Portfolio Tracker to help you track your stocks, mutual funds and ETFs in real time.

Also available: Free Portfolio Tracker apps for iPhone and for Android. An app for iPad will be available soon.

The Portfolio Tracker allows you to automatically pull your investments into a single dashboard, giving you a real-time view of your stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, and options.

If you have a Portfolio created on our website before Sept. 15, you can continue to use it for a short time. But we will be shutting it down because we believe the new Portfolio Tracker is superior in so many ways. We hope by then you will have moved your account to the new USA TODAY Money Portfolio Tracker.

The new Tracker has many updated features, including the ability to automatically pull in information from your brokerage accounts if you wish, and to deliver a customized, automated analysis of your holdings. It is powered by SigFig, a leader in online investment tracking and advice technology.

We hope you will try the new tool, which can be found by scrolling down the Money page of our new website, or by going directly to: portfoliotracker.usatoday.com.

If you don’t have a portfolio, you can simply create a Watchlist of stocks and funds to keep an eye on. And if you want to set up the tracker manually and not link directly to your brokerage accounts, you can do that, too. You can also just sign up to receive a daily e-mail with closing prices of your stocks, mutual funds and ETFs.

Like our previous USA TODAY Portfolios, the new services are all free. Sign up and give them a try.

Questions and Answers about USATODAY.com’s old and new Portfolios

Q: Why are you making this change?

A: It was time to update our user portfolios, and this Portfolio Tracker offers a number of new features we hope you will like, such as the ability to link directly to your 401(K), IRA, broker or advisor accounts; portfolio analysis, including tips about underperforming stocks and funds and excessive fees; and charts comparing your portfolio’s performance with your peers and with market indexes.

Q: How do I access my old USATODAY.com Portfolio, which I created before Sept. 15, 2012?

A: Go to the Portfolio login page: portfolio.usatoday.com and sign in.

Q: I forgot which e-mail address and password I used for that Portfolio. What do I do?

A: For security reasons, we do not have access to your e-mail address or password unless you tell us. If you forgot your password, you can go to the sign-in page (portfolio.usatoday.com), click on Sign in, then click on Forgot your password? and follow the instructions.

Q: Can you just convert my Portfolio to the new USATODAY.com Portfolio Tracker? Or do I have to enter all the information again?
