Stocks to Watch 2015 Stocks To Buy Forum

Below is a list of stocks to watch in 2015. These stocks have the potential to rapidly rise in price and might make for a great investment if you buy now and hold for at least 1 year. Feel free so add your stocks in the comment section below. These stocks rank high on my watch list for 2015.

Twitter (TWTR) — Twitter (TWTR) is obviously my #1 stock to watch in 2015. I’ve liked this company ever since it came public, just not above $55. Twitter (TWTR) is so hated in the high $30’s and low $40’s right now that they won’t have to do much to succeed.

The company is growing revenues 110% year over year and is finally starting to report profits. I like the fact that Twitter continues to buy small start-up companies like SnappyTV and TapCommerce. It seems like Twitter is constantly looking to grow the company through acquisitions and as they become larger, they will make bigger buys. Google used to do this in the early days.

2015 will be a break out year for Twitter (TWTR) but 2016 will be even larger. In 2015, the company will continue to grow monthly active users and play a large role in the Women’s FIFA World Cup which will be hosted by Canada. I’m expecting Twitter to do another #WorldCup portal and make it really easy to follow along. Shifting to 2016, we will have the Summer Olympics and the 58th Presidential Election. These two events will be massive and showcase the Twitter platform like never before.

The future is bright for Twitter and I wouldn’t doubt if the stock is trading at $100 by the end of 2015.

Yelp (YELP) — Yelp (YELP) is another stock to watch in 2015. Right now shares are trading at $68 after hitting $82 twice in the last month. The company just reached profitability and they will continue to grow fast in 2015. While my $130 price target for 2015 might be a little high, the $190 target by 2016/2018 is very reachable.  Making a long term prediction with a volatile stock like YELP is very difficult.

Not only is Yelp growing fast, the company is take over target by companies like Microsoft, Yahoo, and Apple. Short sellers are betting against YELP which will create another massive short squeeze next year. In my opinion, YELP is going a lot higher in 2015.

Intercept Pharmaceuticals (ICPT) — What is a watch list without a hot biotech stock? Intercept Pharmaceuticals (ICPT) took center stage earlier this year when the company reported outstanding NASH liver disease data. After surging 700% in a few weeks, ICPT shares have somewhat come back to earth, now trading at $235 per share. The company is expected to release new NASH data later in 2014 and if the results are outstanding, we could see the stock explode once again. If the data is not so good, ICPT will drop by 50%. Prepare for some volatility in 2015.

El Pollo Loco (LOCO) — El Pollo Loco (LOCO) stock has doubled in a few weeks since going public at around $18 per share to $36. This is a bubble stock that will either erupt more from here or drop by 40%. The key month to watch will be January 2015 which is the lock up expiration. In late January 2015, roughly 29 million shares will be allowed to be sold into the market. This will be a short-sellers dream as I think the stock will see significant downside. However, If the company can deliver solid earnings results in the meantime, the lock up expiration event might not be so bad. Things will get interesting in 2015!
