Chaikin Analytics Review and Free Trial

Thats what I thought, until last week. George and I had a chance to see a demonstration of Chaikin Analytics, probably one of the most complete set of investment tools and stock market model-building technology that’s available for the money. Or at least I’ve ever seen.

How does Chaikin level the playing field?

Chaikin’s Analytics is the brainchild of Marc Chaikin, one of Wall Street’s legendary stock market masters and a pioneer in using computers to predict stock market moves. He created the Chaikin Oscillator and the  Persistency of Money Flow, which became the basis of Investor’s Business Daily’s Accumulation/Distribution Rating. Chaikin also created the first real-time analytics workstation for portfolio managers and stock traders, and his proprietary analytics are now part of Thomson Reuters’ institutional workstation.

GPS for the Stock Market

Chaikin Analytics contains a beefy suite of stock indicators and analytics. It’s been likened to GPS for the stock market.

The tools allow you research stocks you own, want to own, or want to sell as deeply as you wish. Some investors, for instance, have a just a few indicators that they watch; others have a large variety that they’re watching. Some just want a quick reference, others want in-depth charts. This software has both.

Chaikin Power Gauge

The Power Gauge, one of the most interesting facets of the suite, looks at the performance history of more than 5,000 stocks and gives you some idea of its future movements. It gives each stock a ranking from very bearish to very bullish. It gives investors a quick almost instant assessment of the stock’s likely performance in the next one to six months.

Again, chances are, if you have a favorite factor to guide your investment decisions or if you watch a few of them this product has them. The 20-factor model covers financials, earnings, technicals, and expert ratings.

The Chaikin Power Gauge has been backtested over 12 years and traded in three years of real world testing.

Now, with anything in the financial world, Chaikin’s financial products are subject to limitations. The market changes. Political situations bubble up unpredicatbly and have uncertain effects on the market. Etc. Etc. Because these tools and guages have performed well in the past, that doesn’t mean they’ll perform as well in the future.
