Having spent time defining and crafting this site, I can visualize where I want to take it.
As a retail investor, you may not know much about investment, and therefore will not buy shares/stocks in companies, of your choosing.
However, you may find the stock market is a money-making machine.
INVESTMENT ADVICE
Most of you may choose these routes to invest in the stock market:
1. Seek the help from an investment advisor;
2. Go to share/stock forum sites;
3. Go to investing sites that offer stock/share tips;
4. Research the companies yourself, before making an investment.
HOWEVER.
Disaster strikes and your heart sank as the value of your investment goes down the drain, or you may find some successes, but negative returns are still the name of the game.
GIVEN THAT.
ISAs (am talking about a savings scheme in the UK) are allowing ordinary people to NOT just park 50% of savings into the stock market, but in the AIM market, as well.
I can see some people will be getting negative returns instead of the usual 2%-3% a year in interest.
Before you use this site, do you answer yes for the following:
1. Are you unsatisfied with your stock market returns?
2. Do you feel mislead by your advisor, forum participants, share tipping site and others?
3. Are you easily influencing and trusting of others?
WHAT THIS SITE IS ABOUT?
It is set-up for the following purposes:
A. To give advice on investing tips and techniques.
B. To give and educate readers on sound investing fundamentals.
C. To add to your knowledge on investing (I can also increase my knowledge, through the comments section).
D. Finally, my reading my posts and the comments section, you can formulate a number of questions to ask your investment advisor, and critique a share tip.
The investment philosophy I would like to share is:
Think how much you are willing to lose on your investment, instead of how much you will make.
(Yes, that is my bedroom. )
I am not another investment banker from the City of London (your money is safe, honest.), but my interests lie in investments (obviously!) and human behaviour. Knowing the secrets between can lead to successful investments, as long as the numbers add up to your favourite set of parameters.
My investment philosophy is in Stockopedia (under the name ‘Orangetree.’)
Ahh, almost forgot. I’m an upstanding guy looking out for the average man and woman on the street. And, yes, I am an average dude like yourself.
