Ten Characteristics of Successful Entrepreneurs Part Two
Post on: 27 Март, 2015 No Comment
L ast week. I started talking about characteristics that successful entrepreneurs have. We worked through the first five, but Ive got more! These last characteristics have a lot to do with why you get into the entrepreneurial game. As someone who came out of retirement to pick the ball back up, I can see clearly what drives me forward and where my devotion lies.
- Devotion –Successful entrepreneurs love what they do. They have PASSION. So work in an area that pushes your buttons and excites you. And even better find an area or field that continually excites you. When you find passion theres a love and a joy in what youre doing. I love when Im given the opportunity to teach or consult. Thats one of my highest levels of passion. So after a time of trying things out, youll be able to identify what you can be truly devoted to.
- Details –Entrepreneurs know that in order to succeed they need to be involved in every detail of the business. Do not. in the beginning, listen to people who tell you to take a step back. Get dirty in every area. Now you wont like every area, but youve got to learn and get a pulse on your organization. Not only will this help you converse with and direct your employees, but youll be able to have an understanding of how long projects should take and what resources should be invested in those department areas.
- Destiny –Entrepreneurs want to be in charge of their own destiny. They have a strong desire to be independent. Youve got to have that sense of destiny and what you want in your life as this is what will keep pushing you forward.
- Dollars –Entrepreneurs know that while money is not the only motivation they will be rewarded for their efforts if they are successful. For most entrepreneurs in the world, I know its often a high motivation. But interestingly, I notice that new entrepreneurs are dedicated to social issues. The new social entrepreneurs in the world arent just concerned about what they can have, but what others can have as well. This is an awesome trend and I hope it continues!
- Distribute –Well-rounded, successful entrepreneurs know that they can not do it alone. They are willing to share their success with those who help them be successful. This means that they help a lot of other people succeed as well. Theyre invested into pouring into others and developing a successful cultural climate! And this is really what Im all about and do with my non-profits.
How does this sit with you? Whats a characteristic youre developing as an entrepreneur?
