Since 2009, livability.net has put out their list of best college towns to live in America. With this being a website based around real estate in Logan, UT, you can imagine Logan ranks pretty high on this list (it does). But before we get to where they rank, lets review why the beautiful Cache Valley area continually shows up on ranking surveys from all over.
Education. Logan, UT is ground zero for Utah State University. Nestled against the eastern mountains at the mouth of Logan Canyon, this beautiful campus offers unlimited beauty, and a quaint environment with locations abounding for quiet study. With an athletics program that continues to improve, cultural arts, business and their ever present involvement with the space program, USU has a wide array of education to attract students from all over the country.
Family. Northern Utah (specifically Cache Valley) continues to rank high on the best places to live in the US. This is in large part of a culture that centers around the family unit. Neighbors look out for one another, folks pull over to help a car that has broken down, or off in a ditch. Moms carpool, volunteer in classrooms and are involved in community activities. There is religion from all sects teaching love and kindness. Crime rates are low in large part of people just caring for one another. Logan offers a FREE bus service to help the community and ensure that students can get to school, and parents can get to work on even the snowiest of days. Sure, Logan, UT is a small town and has its struggles associated with it, like all small towns, but there is a kindness here that Ive not found anywhere else.
Recreation. Now were talking! I could write a book on all of the recreational possibilities available in Northern, UT. From the Caribbean of the Rockies (Bear Lake), to the slopes of Park City, there are countless activities to satisfy everyones desires. Hunting, fishing, skiing, boating, camping, hiking, biking, photography, horse back riding, snowmobiling, cultural events, flying, canoeing, bird watching and four-wheeling just to name a few. There are clubs of all sorts to get involved with, 4-H programs for kids, rodeo, food from all over the world, college and professional sporting events, and the list goes on. Once you live here, you find even more activities available to you, it really is an incredible place with wonderful opportunities for everyone.
Overall, we feel blessed to live in such a great place with an overall wonderful sense of community. We call Cache Valley Utah our home, and as much as we love to travel to different areas of the country, we always love coming home to this little piece of Heaven.
OH, and I almost forgot, Logan is ranked the #2 college town in America for 2014. Congratulations Logan, UT! Keep up the good work, and lets make it #1 for 2015.
