Investment & Financial Knowledge For The Little Guy [Investing, Economics, & Financial topics explained]
Introduction
Thank you for your visiting. This blog was started in May 2008.
Main Focus
Idea is to have a blog that focuses on investing: general principles, education, real life examples, personal experiences.
Less discussion on personal finance, since there are many other great personal finance blogs out there. However, personal finance has a large role in the foundation of investing.
Mainly would apply to events in the US, but sometimes Canadian specific.
Each entry will be something I feel is important/interesting enough to comment on. Some will be detailed articles, while others will be shorter comments.
Topics will usually be related to whatever I am or have been investing in most recently (paper assets such as stocks, real estate, etc).
INTERESTING NOTES is a special section about things related to investing that Ive come across, learned, experienced, or reflected upon, that I feel should be noted and has some kind of value (eventually resulting in monetary value =P ) to my readers. It may be reinforcement of certain investing principles, opportunities that I see, or something new I came across. I hope to share & learn from what I notice. The more I learn the closer and faster I get to my goals!
Purpose & Audience
Serve as my memory dump.
A place for me to review my knowledge. I remember better when explaining to others.
People I know have been asking for something like this from me for quite some time now. Ive put it off for too many years already. With the popularity and availability of blogging tools, as well as the current economic situation, the time has never been more suitable.
A place for me to share information, education, & personal experience. When I first started investing I didnt know where to look or start, or how to do things. I really wish I had somewhere to go or someone to ask to make things easier. So maybe this can be a site for people who want to ask some questions.
I hope newbies and people who have already been investing for a long time will enjoy reading the posts.
Frequency Of Posts & Comments

I hope to post once a week, which allows my readers some time for the information in each new post to sink in. Too many new posts a week may be information overload.
I will try to read & answer comments each week. Unfortunately my time is very limited and its not possible to see/read or respond to all comments.
My opinions, comments, experiences, will at many times differ and be contrary to the general population, financial professionals, MBA grads, analysts, other investors, and conventional wisdom. But then again, the same could be said for Warren Buffet, and other successful investors.
The information on this blog site is based on my personal opinion & experience. Feel free to integrate my investment knowledge with your own, and discard anything you feel is unsuitable or not useful to you.
My comments will contain be my honest opinion & assessment, and is not meant to be politically correct or made to purposely satisfy anyone. My comments are meant to provoke thought and get people to start putting pieces of the puzzle together themselves, rather than be blind followers of society, media, institutional thought.
I want to make it clear that I am not the smartest investor, nor the most knowledgeable. I do not come up with any new formulas or individual analysis techniques myself. I leave those to the ones who are really smart (finance/math professors, etc). Everything I know was learned directly & indirectly from people smarter than myself (personal, famous investors, historical figures, etc). I only accumulate & integrate the information from various sources over the years, and then apply it to be able to see the world more clearly. I keep what I have found to work for me, and weed out the ones that dont. My knowledge will constantly change and evolve, as yours will too.
Hopefully one of my comments or articles will be useful to someone else.
