Job Description
Responsible for preparing and analyzing interim and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant GAAP requirements for alternative investments (hedge, private equity, exchange, and real estate) funds.
- Set up and maintain hard copy binders and electronic documentation for each respective fund during a given reporting cycle.
- Ensure that all documentation used to calculate and support all financial statement disclosures is received and is accurate. Research, resolve or elevate issues as applicable.
- Prepare interim and annual and financial statements:
- Perform planning procedures in order to identify any issues prior to the commencement of the reporting cycle and work with applicable parties to resolve them.
- Coordinate the receipt of reports, extracts and other information from internal and external parties.
- Perform a review to ensure the general ledger balances agree to the supporting documentation, identifying issues and initiating the resolution of those issues with applicable parties.
- Ensure the accuracy and reasonability of amounts disclosed in the financial statements by performing a thorough self-review.
- Draft financial statements disclosures in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, or other applicable reporting standards.
- Follow all best practices and internal control procedures regarding financial statements preparation and sign off on all required checklists.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to procedures based on knowledge and experience obtained during preparation process.
- Strictly adhere to production calendars and internal deadlines to ensure that deadlines are met and assignments are completed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the distribution of financial statements to both internal and external parties as well as provide relevant supporting documentation and calculations.
- Coordinate the receipt of comments on financial statements drafts from both internal and external parties. Ensure the timely research, resolution and processing of comments.
- Participate in business and operation transformational projects including automation. Assist in preparing and updating financial reporting training materials.

Qualifications
Education/Experience requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. Related experience a plus.
- Strong computer skills – advanced knowledge of Microsoft office
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time / project management skills (ability to meet deadlines and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.)
- Attention to detail
- Reports to Financial Reporting Senior Specialist/Manager.
