Divorcing can be exceptionally tricky. Not only are you taking a life that was formally combined with someone else and separating it to a singles life, but more often than not asset division is not agreed upon by both parties involved. Your Florida divorce attorney will be able to advise you and all matters regarding the division of assets.
It is important to do your research before the divorce proceedings begin. You will want to uncover all hidden assets so that they are taken into consideration during the divorce process.
Look for These Assets if Youre Going through a Divorce
Not every spouse is honest so it is important to try to not only uncover legitimate hidden assets, but to also reveal false claims:
Many couples maintain a certain amount of cash outside of their bank account in case of emergencies.
All accounts are taken into consideration including dependants accounts and accounts for future educational funds.
Make sure all retirement accounts are represented,
 Frequent flyer miles,
The full salary of both parties should be represented including regular bonuses, raises and stock options.
Delayed closing of long-term business contract,
Non-taxed of reported income such as contracted work or winnings,
 Overpayment of taxes,
 Absorption of tax refunds,
Unreported Valuables (collectibles, antiques, jewelry, rugs, sculpture, pottery, paintings, photographs, etc.) housed at the office,
Review all debts and make sure they are legitimately outstanding debts,
Report all lavish spending on anyone outside of the marriage such as jewelry, vacations, etc.
Bearer municipal bonds or series EE savings bonds, and
 Time shares.
Uncovering hidden assets may be tricky depending on how much time your spouse had to prepare for the divorce proceedings before you are able to get your hands on the records:
It is extremely important to track down all financial information possible in regards to joint accounts and your spouses personal information. This means that you need to not only collect all statements and financial information, but you will also need to carefully reviewing all transactions and researching the movement of any funds.

Check both your credit report and your spouses for any major activity.
HR will have all of your spouses payment information. You should be able to get a copy of these records from them if needed.
Deliver all of your findings and the paperwork to your certified Florida divorce attorney. They will be able to scrutinize all of the information and discover invalid claims or transactions.
Your attorney may suggest that you hire a forensic accountant who will analyze your spouses finances to find any hidden assets and financial inconsistencies.
