After enrolling for Trading Futures, CST will give you access to an online file with your name on it. In that file is some written material in PDF format that I have prepared for you that will give you the basics in futures trading. CST will also open a simulated trading account (at no extra cost) in your name with futures industry leader, CQG. This account will allow you to make simulated trades in real time without risking real money. You will then be contacted by your mentor via email to schedule your first mentoring session. In that first session, your mentor will determine your trading knowledge, your talents, your weaknesses and your goals. Your mentor will then structure the program accordingly. One-on-one mentoring is intensive and goal-oriented. It is how I was trained on the trading floor, and it is how I trained others. It works, if you do.
The sessions begin with an overview of the futures market. What markets are there to trade? Do you trade grains? Financials? Commodities? Energy? What kind of trader should you be? A short-term scalper? A long-term position trader? a spreader?
Then I will teach you the two most valuable concepts necessary to becoming a successful futures trader. The first is trading with discipline. An undisciplined trader is not going to have a long career. The second is risk/reward. Trading is a never-ending series of decisions that must be weighed on risk/reward basis. I consider risk management, like trading with discipline, to be essential skills for a successful trader.
With that background in place, the student now moves on to simulated trading. With your CQG real-time simulated trading platform you will be able to put your new found knowledge to work without risking real money. You will learn what kind of trader you want to be and I will be there to help you get there.
When your five individual sessions are over, your relationship with the Chicago School of Trading is not. The CST Student Lounge is a forum where our students, graduates and mentors exchange market observations, pose and answer questions, upload articles, link to other sites, and discuss market strategies. The CST Student and Alumni community also comes together once a week in an on-line interactive meeting discussing the week in the markets.
This cost of this course is $3499.00. We have special rates for graduates of our options program and set rates for any futures graduate who might need an extra session somewhere down the road.
We have high expectations for our students, and we do not want anyone who is not going to give 110% to this course. We pride ourselves on the success of our students. We are only successful if our students are successful. If you are serious about learning how to trade futures, then please contact me to set up a 10 minute phone conversation. This call will help both of us determine if we are a good fit. Since I am still an active trader, my time is scarce and I can only take on a limited number of students.
