A new session of each course starts monthly. If enrolling in a series of two or more courses, please be sure to space the start date for each course at least two months apart.
All courses run for six weeks, with a two-week grace period at the end. Two lessons are released each week for the six-week duration of the course. You do not have to be present when lessons are released. You will have access to all lessons until the course ends. However, the interactive discussion area that accompanies each lesson will automatically close two weeks after the lesson is released. As such, we strongly recommend that you complete each lesson within two weeks of its release.
The final exam will be released on the same day as the last lesson. Once the final exam has been released, you will have two weeks to complete all of your course work, including the final exam.
Week One
Wednesday — Lesson 01
Are stock options worth your time and effort? Youll find out in this lesson. Well explore where options originated and whether they are as risky as many people say. Then well go over the formal definition of an option, so youll understand exactly what youre dealing with. Finally, well look at some easy-to-understand examples to drive home each element of that definition.
I enjoyed this class immensely, simply because you made it as easy as possible to understand this whole new world of stock options. I enrolled in this course because I wanted to learn more about investing my stock shares, and found another avenue altogether. Thank you very much, Mark. I thoroughly enjoyed the course.
Mark has a knack for tackling the complex and often daunting subject matter and breaking it down into its simplest parts. I had taken stabs at learning about options trading in the past, only to quickly retreat, feeling overwhelmed and dumb. Because of Mark, I was able to understand for the first time what was going on. He is a wealth of knowledge and experience, responds promptly and directly to questions, is never condescending, is easily approachable, and is eager for our success. I would definitely sign up for any other investment class he might teach in the future.
Mark has been a great instructor! His real life experiences gave credibility to the whole course. His examples, his warnings, and his lists of reference materials truly helped build my interest and confidence in options trading. I am excited, as he predicted, to be involved in this aspect of investing.
I absolutely love your teaching method, you’re not boring, your lessons stay on track without ever becoming monotonous — which is a rare find! Each lesson left me with a notebook full of answers to questions I had from the previous lesson, and many small nuggets of wisdom to tuck away for future application and a notebook full of questions that left me looking forward to the next lesson — I loved it!
Mr. Quinn is very knowledgeable about stock options, yet he has the ability to explain them to novices like me in such a way that I can understand them. This course was exactly what I wanted; it provided an understanding of the options tools as well as clear explanations of the risks and pitfalls with options. Mr. Quinn introduced tools that I intend to use in my further exploration of stock options. A great course!
I absolutely loved this course. The instructor’s explanations with supporting examples was crucial for me. This can quickly become a complicated subject, but, the instructor’s instructional material layout was perfect. I can only hope that Mark chooses to do an advanced options course some day too!
Great course. Tons of information given but in a simple and clear manner. Lots of examples to help illustrate the concepts. Good basic class to help understand the basics and the many different terms and strategies. Definitely recommend.
I really enjoyed this class. The instructor wrote it in such a way to make an intimidating and complicated subject much easier to follow and learn.
This course more than exceeded my expectations. The instructor had a refreshing style of writing that seemed so natural. I enjoyed that he put his own investing experiences into the course. I especially appreciated all the supplementary material he provided. He presented the information in a well organized way, making sure not to throw in advanced concepts into the beginning so we can build on our knowledge. This might be the first class I thoroughly enjoyed and wanted to read all the lessons. Keep up the good work.
Mark Quinn is an outstanding teacher. He is professional, quite knowledgeable, and very helpful. He has a way of transforming even the most abstract material into concrete and enjoyable lessons. As a student, I found his sense of organization most beneficial. Finally, his sense of humor is delightful. I recommend this class to anyone who is interested in successful investing. I would love to take his advanced class.
