The PAS Product Management Group is responsible for developing, training, marketing, and the ongoing management of the product offerings from Portfolio Advisory Services. Successful execution of this position requires strong relationships with key business partners including Strategic Advisers’ (Fidelity’s Internal Investment Manager), product development, platform development, communications, retail distribution, marketing, legal compliance, finance and technology.

The Vice President of Product Management will support the development, launch and ongoing business line management of existing and new PAS product lines. Emphasis on MFA’s, SMA’s and UMA/UMH’s. Product Management responsibilities include supporting the full product development life cycle including concept, design, development, and implementation across all facets of the business in addition to ongoing business line management. The Director will conducting strategic, marketplace, or other necessary analysis and present proposals for product content, features and structure. The Director will also represent PAS as needed on cross-company initiatives and will be a point-of-contact on key working teams.

Primary Responsibilities

Product Management responsibilities include the identification of product line enhancements (investment products, services), direct product communications with marketing, relationship with the investment advisor (SAI), support distribution product requests, track competitors and trends, determine product pricing, develop annual business plan, and manage product PL. The Director will also identify product gaps and work with product development to prioritize new features and coordinate delivery to the marketplace. Continually scan the environmental landscape to seek out opportunities for managed products and services enhancements that will expand PAS households, increase product asset flows, and enhance PWI revenue. Conduct strategic, marketplace, or other necessary analysis and coordinate present proposals to management.

Serve as a core member of the cross-functional working team responsible for the development and delivery of product capabilities

Evaluate key product capabilities with distribution teams and HNW clients prior to national rollout

Analyze impact of new product capabilities to pricing schedule accounting for product profitability, competitive positioning, and overall product line fit

Participate in discussions with SAI to evaluate and prioritize new investments projects from SAI and help drive implementation

Continuously scan the environmental landscape to seek out opportunities to improve product offering and positioning within PWI Advice Spectrum to retain households, increase asset flows, and enhance PWI/Fidelity revenue.

Support identifying and documenting the business opportunity, high level product design, customer experience, operational impact, and project resources required.

Support the definition of business requirements related to new investment products and services including product features, investment structure, rep training. and client experience .

Analyze impact of project/product on the external and internal customers

Business Planning: Participate in all business planning and technical strategies relating to the short and long term operations, infrastructure, and directions. Support the development of the overall PAS business plan including, product, marketing, investment management, technology and distribution.

Competitive Analysis: Track market share (flows and assets) within overall managed accounts industry. Scan environment for industry trends including product evolution, regulatory, technology, marketing, and distribution. Continually review key competitor offerings for impact to current and future offering.

Distribution Relationship Support: Monitor voice of channel, voice of customer. Develop sales and service support materials and strategies — campaigns, sales plays, hard cards, etc. Support product questions and need from investment advisor (SAI).

Investment Advisor Relationship (SAI): Manage relationship with SAI in support of the on-going delivery of the PAS product. Key activities include: collaborate with SAI to manage distribution channel investment support needs, enhance customer investment communications, monitor investment performance, lead quarterly investment review, and monitor compliance activity.

Product Marketing Direction: Collaborate with marketing communications to develop and implement all marketing and promotional activities, including events, collateral, advertising, direct mail and e-marketing. Monitor effectiveness and make corrections as necessary.

Business Partner Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholder across PAS, PWI and business partners in order to form organizational consensus on issues and ensuring consistency in the representation of the business. Interact with all levels of business opportunity; inform the high level product design, customer and representative experience.

Business Requirements Support: Contribute as subject matter expert to the definition of business requirements related to new products and services including product features, investment structure, and operating plan. Support impact analysis of project/product (e.g. new customer experience, technologies, applications and or work flows) on customer and rep experience.

Implementation Support: Support coordination of launch to market: distribution communication and training, changes to business measurement, changes to rep and customer communications.

Product Distribution: Partner with distribution to understand product opportunities from a representative/advisor servicing perspective. Leverage industry and competitive knowledge identify solutions to fill gaps.

Legal, Risk, Compliance (LRC): Partner with LRC organizations to identify risks and mitigating controls in support of product.

Communicate Status: Communicate the status of product development deliverables concisely and effectively to all levels of management

Ad-Hoc Strategic Projects: As required, this individual will work with sales, client management, risk, SAI, finance, technology, and marketing to drive new strategic

product initiatives

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelors Degree required, MBA or other advanced degree a plus

Minimum of 8-10 years of financial industry experience

Investment product management experience including mutual funds, ETFs, or managed account programs — Mutual Fund Account (MFA), Separately Managed Accounts (SMA), Unified Managed Account (UMA), Unified Managed Household (UMH).

Understanding of Managed Account investment processes, including client portfolio overlay management, asset allocation, vehicle selection, trading, and operations. Understanding of HNW sales process.

Familiarity with Managed Account platforms a plus

Excellent communication skills including proposal/presentation development and delivery, and meeting facilitation.
