Regions’ passion for its communities is seen through our significant contribution of financial and human resources. Regions and our more than 23,000 associates are committed to improving the quality of life and driving the economic engine in the communities we serve.
To demonstrate our commitment, over the next seven years we have pledged $100 billion in community development that will help grow small businesses, provide mortgages for individuals with low or moderate incomes, and revitalize underserved communities.
Regions associates also demonstrate our commitment by volunteering with non-profit organizations and Regions-sponsored charitable events. Their participation is counted as part the company’s associate volunteer program, What A Difference A Day Makes, where associates are granted one day off per year, with pay, to volunteer in the community. Regions’ philosophy is that when associates lend their time and talent by volunteering, they are helping to make life better.
Here are just a few of the organizations that Regions has partnered with in this effort:
Regions Associates Give Back to our Communities
Regions associates from across the Birmingham, Ala. area spent their What A Difference A Day Makes volunteer day by partnering with Junior Achievement of Greater Birmingham, an organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.
The team spent time at a local middle school teaching JA in One Day to students in grades six through eight. Students were taught practical lessons on how business and entrepreneurship affects the economy, key aspects of the global economy, what makes world trade work, and how trade affects the students’ daily lives.

Helping our communities to expect more is a vital part of Regions’ mission. Through our support of organizations like Junior Achievement, we’re able to help fulfill that mission by providing entrepreneurial education and skills development to youth in our area.
When the school day was over, Regions volunteers headed to the Junior Achievement Winter Bowling Classic, where more than a dozen teams (nearly 100 associates) bowled to raise nearly $34,000 for Junior Achievement.
As a result of Regions associates’ volunteer efforts, Junior Achievement will be able to continue to teach financial literacy to many more students in the Birmingham metro area.
