These Annoying Notifications

Hi guys. Just one simple thing — do you really have to spam whose native language wiki notifications? I know this wiki is available in my language, but I still choose to read it in English. If you really want to know why, here’s why: (a) I watch MLP in English, ’cause I think usually dubs are worse than originals (and, after a — shallow — comparison this show seems to me to be a no exception), and ’cause I don’t have the opportunity to have contact with English too often nowadays, but I still don’t wanna forget it completely; not to mention the opportunity to learn understanding spoken English; and (b) usually (not always) English wikis are more complete and more correct than local languages wikis, probably ’cause they’re international and thus they attract more volunteers. The English wiki seems great; so there’s no need for me to check the quality of my local language wiki. If I was able to invest my time in contributing, maybe I’d take a closer look at it and start wondering if I can help with anything; but sadly I’m not able to do so.

But that’s not the point. The point is, these notifications are, actually. um. well, super annoying. Well I know it’s your wiki, so I probably have no right to tell you what you are to do, but. To be honest, I have to withhold my annoyance to write this message in a civilized manner. I’m just a reader — but maybe a reader’s point is worthy to be considered?

Here’s the trick. I see a notification I’m not interested in. So I click this ‘x’ button to close it. But instead of closing, it spawns another, even bigger notification, that tries to make me to fill it, refusing to close if I don’t! (at least for some time) This seems to cross the line of disrespecting readers on it’s own. If I click an ‘x’, I want the notification to close for good. I don’t want to be forced to fill any form.

But here comes the worst part. Every single time I come to visit this wiki, the notifications reappear. This is almost stalking. And it’s pointless, too. How many answers do you want from one reader? I bet one answer should be enough. And it’s no use to inform the already informed ones.

Last but not least. I wasn’t told that filling your notification goes to Google Forms, you automatically redirect me to. I might want to pass a form to you, but not to Google!

Sorry, but. Well. Could you kindly consider cutting out these practices? You could save a cookie each time a reader closes this notification, so that it doesn’t reappear? You could move this notification to you bottom bar (or top bar), couldn’t you? Couldn’t you? Pretty please?
