Managed futures education leader Attain Capital Management will be hosting a free managed futures webinar on Tuesday, June 19th, at 1 PM CST. The hour-long webinar will delve into the basics of how the asset class works, why it might be worth a look, and how investors can efficiently access the space. The webinar comes in response to increasing requests from registered investment advisers (RIAs) and individual investors for more information on managed futures in general.

The webinar will feature an extensive panel of speakers including Liz Flores, Executive Director of Client Development & Sales with the CMEGroup; Russ Rausch, COO of commodity trading advisor Emil van Essen, LLC; Rick Slaughter, Partner and Portfolio Manager, and Chris Stanton, Director of Portfolio Strategy with commodity trading advisor Sunrise Capital Management; Jeffrey Dow Jones, RIA with Jones & Company; William Bromley, RIA with Corestates Capital Advisors, LLC; Jeffrey Barclay, attorney specializing in managed futures with Schuyler, Roche & Crisham; and Jeff Eizenberg, Senior Vice-President of Client Portfolio Management with Attain. The panel will be moderated by Attain Director of Communications Lauren Nelson.

The webinar content has been designed to provide more than traditional, superficial explanations of the asset class without veering into overly-technical descriptions. Topics will include strategy types within managed futures, the role of an allocation within a portfolio, how portfolios should be researched and constructed, and the pros and cons of access points, including the fast-growing managed futures mutual fund space. The panel will conclude with an open Q&A session for participants.

The webinar has created a fair amount of buzz, as Attains approach to investor education doesnt always sit well with other industry participants. Though they frequently cover strong performance from CTAs, theyre just as likely to write about program drawdowns and asset class downturns, as well.
