Pre-Sales Derivatives Market Specialist
FX and Money Markets, Interest Rate, Credit, Equity, Commodity or Fixed Income and Structured Products
As a Pre-Sales Market Specialist your primary role is to successfully deliver key messages about the functionality of Calypso solution suite via presentation and product demonstration, with the core objective of successfully supporting the sales organization in one of our core solutions (Capital Markets, Investment Management, Treasury and Liquidity, Clearing and Collateral).
Our Pre-Sales Group is comprised of Market Specialists, with specialized domain expertise, across each one of the asset classes and/or functional areas our solution provides. You will play an extremely vital role in the sales cycle as the team is responsible for articulating the value-proposition of the Calypso solutions, as it relates to your specific market, through client/prospect demo’s and presentations.
You will lead the prospect through a well-rehearsed, smooth flowing demo in which you as the market specialist can answer the question ‘So what?’ for every step during the demo. The demo must help the attendees discover how the Calypso solution can answer their business challenge and how the solution works.
The Pre-Sales Market Specialist role will focus on the specialization and expertise in one or more of the following areas: FX and Money Markets, Interest Rate, Credit, Equity, Commodity or Fixed Income and Structured Products.
Among each Pre-Sales Market Specialists responsibilities is the management of numerous simultaneous projects that range from business development initiatives to systems evaluations and to the transfer of knowledge throughout the sales and customer support organization. The group plays a major role in helping us to meet our overall financial goals and contributing to our overall growth.
Responsibilities:
- Become the resident subject matter expert in a specific asset class and extend that knowledge base through the sales and customer support organization
- Prepare and delivering outstanding functional presentations and workshops to prospects based on the findings from the discovery phase, RFP’s/RFI’s, or other gathered user requirements. Delivering the value proposition and the Unique Selling Proposition of the Calypso Solution.
- Configure the system to demonstrate how Calypso can meet client’s requirements
- Work with the Calypso Professional Services organization in achieving “Proof of Concept” demonstrations during the sales cycle
- Translating new business requirements obtained in the market into functional specifications as needed
- Participate in RFP’s/RFI’s.
- Understand and stay current on key business requirements of your market. Support product management, marketing and sales in competitive positioning and product leadership.
- Participate in marketing events and PR initiatives organized by sales and marketing.
Skills & Requirements:
- 5-8 years of industry experience. Detailed knowledge of one of the following: FX and Money Markets, Interest Rate, Credit, Equity, Commodity or Fixed Income and Structured Products.
- Strong ability to map conceptual financial and business elements to practical system capabilities
- Understand the competitive offering landscape in one of the above asset classes and be able to show Calypso’s unique value proposition
- Technical skills (Java/C++) are a plus for Functional Market Specialists
- Experience designing/building front or back office systems will be especially valuable.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. The person in this role will spend significant amounts of time working hands-on with customers. Verbal and presentation skills are critically important
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
