Parity Energy, Inc. seeks a zealous and talented test professional to join our quality assurance team. You will be working in a highly-collaborative, agile team to deliver frequent, high-quality releases of the Parity Energy Platform (PEP), our cutting-edge online marketplace for energy derivative trading. A significant focus of the role will be to maintain and expand our existing suite of Ruby-based Selenium tests. You will also be expected to participate in manual testing of new features, and to collaborate with business users and software developers in determining requirements and gathering feedback.
- Work in an agile environment to establish and measure quality objectives for different deliverables.
- Utilize leading edge tools and techniques to ensure product quality.
- Review business and functional requirements in order to produce a test strategy and test cases.
- Participate in conceptualization/requirements sessions with business and technical teams and provide input for improving the quality of the deliverable.
- Create and execute test scripts and test plans.
- Maintain and extend the QA automated test suite.
- Review nightly automated test builds and follow up as appropriate (log bugs, fix tests).
- Participate in bug review meetings.
- Support performance testing efforts.
Skills and Experience
- Two to five years software QA experience, preferably with a consumer-facing internet product.
- One to two years experience running and maintaining automated QA tests; open source tools (such as Selenium) strongly preferred.
- Programming skills sufficient to write automation scripts, and to validate test results in a database or through some other non-GUI based method.
- Basic programming knowledge of at least one programming language: eg Ruby, Groovy, Python and some familiarity with CSS.
- Experience with subversion or similar SCM tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in online documentation techniques using wiki and web-based project tracking tools (eg JIRA).
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage work to project timelines.
- Should be a good team player.
- Understanding of financial software products and the financial market in general is strongly preferred.

While coding has already started, you would be joining at an early stage.
