2C130 /%If you want learn to trade the markets successfully it is essential that you have a good understanding of exactly what the market is and how it works. One thing I always remember my father telling me was, never invest time or money in anything you dont fully understand So i set about educating myself for almost a year before I took the plunge and took a trade.

I would recommend that before you jump in and buy anything, you need to educate yourself to a level where you have a broad understanding of how the markets work and how to read a chart. You also need to develop a good trading plan that suits your style and have strategies in place that controls losses and maximize gains.

I would recommend that you need to learn to trade without money. Paper trade for a while, before you dive in and start trading with money on the line. Before you do anything though,I would strongly suggest you:

1. Learn the 3 basic principles of the market

• Cause and effect
• Effort and reward
• Supply and demand

2. Understand the concepts of

• Bullish and bearish Action
• Strong and weak holders
• Accumulation and distribution
• The smart money and the herd

3. Learn and fully understand

4. Learn to protect capital by

• Calculating potential risk and reward
• Assessing the viability of the trade
• The importance of a plan
• Setting stops and acting on them

As you can see from this list, there is quite a bit you need to know before you even consider risking your hard earned capital, something as traders we learn to protect at all costs. Capital protection is the no 1 priority!

Chart Reading Skills

2C130 /%I cant overstate enough how important it is to learn and hone your ability to accurately read a chart. This is probably the hardest part when you start to learn to trade, and I often compare it to the musicians ability to read a piece of music. Learn the basics though and the rest will come in time with practice and live trading.
