How to contact a financial advisor

Our advisors are more within reach. We have approximately 10,000 financial advisors 3 living and working in communities across the United States, over half of whom have been with us for more than 10 years 4 .

You can choose to work with an Ameriprise financial advisor in a community near you, or talk over the phone with an advisor in the Ameriprise Advisor Center. You can also find an advisor based on your specific financial needs, or request that an advisor contact you.

However you choose to work with us, your advisor will help you understand your financial situation and can provide tailored recommendations to address your individual needs.

Asking questions can help you select a financial advisor to meet with. Remember, your initial consultation is complimentary.

Search for an advisor who is connected to someone you know through the LinkedIn network

If you have a LinkedIn network profile, you can use the LinkedIn search option on ameriprise.com to find advisors who are connected to someone you know.

1. Go to the Search via LinkedIn search page and sign in with LinkedIn. To complete the search, youll need to grant Ameriprise access to your network for a period of time ranging from Until Revoked to One Day, which you can change as you sign in or from your LinkedIn account.
2. View advisors connected to you. You can look through each advisors website to learn more about them.
3. Reach out to the people who are listed as common connections to ask for more information or contact an advisor directly.

Request a referral from your friends and family

1. Reach out to people you know via phone, email or any online social network and ask for the names of any Ameriprise financial advisors they may have worked with.
2. Look up the advisors who are referred to you through our search tool and use the information on the advisors website to make contact via phone or email.

Find a financial advisor close to your home or work

1. Use the Find an advisor box in the upper right corner of this page. Enter your ZIP code to start your search.
2. Your search results will show you financial advisors and offices that are closest to you.
3. Select an advisor name to see more information about their practice.

Locate a financial advisor with a specific practice focus

If you have specific financial needs such as domestic partner planning, estate planning, growing a business or others, you can find an advisor with that focus.

1. Enter your ZIP code in the search tool and scroll down to select your specific area of focus.
2. Your search results will show advisors in your area with the financial focus you chose.

Request that an advisor contact you

1. If you prefer, you can have an Ameriprise financial advisor contact you.
2. An Ameriprise financial advisor in your community will contact you via the phone number or email address you provide.

Talk to one of our advisors over the phone

1. If you prefer to work with an advisor over the phone or want help finding an advisor in your area, call the Ameriprise Advisor Center at 800.257.8740 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central time, Monday through Friday and one of our customer service representatives will help connect you to an advisor.

After you make contact with one or more financial advisors, the next step is to select an advisor who is right for you.
