How are you ladies stacking your money these days? What are your thoughts about investing in the market nowadays?

What else could happen in the world of finance. 2008 has certainly been a pretty lousy year and now we have sunk to the lowest of the low, as former Nasdaq stock market chairman Bernard Madoff was arrested on claims that he ran a Ponzi scheme. He purportedly lost tons and tons of money in bad investments and then took fresh principal that was invested with his firm to pay off earlier investors. Losses are estimated to be at least $50 billion. Yes, that’s not a misprint, $50 billion. How can someone run a 50 BILLION dollar ponzi scam is beyond my comprehension. A ponzi schemes are a simple fraud whereby initial investors are paid exceptional dividends as interest accumulates from the deposits of a growing number of new investors. In other words using Peter’s money to pay Paul. Victims include Braman, former owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Mets owner Fred Wilpon; New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg, who entrusted his family’s charitable foundation to Madoff; Foundations tied to Nobel prize winner Elie Wiesel and Academy Award Winning Director Steven Spielberg; Mort Zuckerman, owner of the New York Daily News, estimated his charity lost $30 million; Clients and shareholders in Europe’s biggest banks and hedge funds, who had investment accounts with Madoff, lost billions;

The Robert I. Lappin Charitable Foundation, a charity that financed trips for Jewish youth to Israel, said on its Web site that the money for its operations was invested with Madoff; The money needed to fund the programs of the Lappin Foundation is gone, it said. The foundation staff has been terminated today. It was recently reported that even some Ivy league institutions were victimized in this monumental scam.

Nothing feels safe anymore, I practical cashed in over half of my investments. I’d rather spend my money on me and mine than lose it in this market.

Never before have I felt this jaded about investing. I started thinking back on how the international value of the dollar started free falling for over 5yrs ago.

Compounding to our degradating economical housing woes and the collapse/resturcturing and lifeline tossed to many top companies (AIG, Fanny and Freddy, Citigroup,Lehman Bros, etc), the many bank failures, then most recently the mother of all SCAMS was uncovered — 50billion dollars scammed from some of the best and brightest.

What recourse and hope does it leave for the rest of us. Are you all still investing or thinking about investing in the market during these times? Shyt Granma might have been on to something back in the days when she stashed her cash under the matress. How are you all stacking your cash??
