What We Do
Financial Benefit Services Corporation is a registered investment advisory firm providing financial planning and consulting, investment services, and insurance brokerage.
To help people plan for the future, we provide three types of financial planning:
- Preparation of written financial plans and plan updates — We work with you to develop a written plan designed to build capital, increase income from existing assets, reduce income taxes, minimize estate taxes, and contemplate risk management. With this financial plan you can clearly understand your financial position, define your goals and put specific plans into action.
- Hourly consulting on a specific topic or problem — Consultations on an hourly basis will cover a topic or problem you specify and may be used to review your existing written financial plan.
- Seminars on various aspects of financial planning — Our seminars provide general information on various financial planning and investment topics.
- Qualified plan ERISA services provided to plan sponsors and employee plan participants (see ADV Part 2A for specifics).

Financial Benefit Services Corporation recommends general types of products or securities which we believe will help you achieve your financial goals.
We offer advice on specific types of investment which include:

- Corporate Debt Securities
- Certificates of Deposit
- Municipal Securities
- Variable Life Insurance
- Variable Annuities
- Mutual Funds
- Unit Investment Trusts
- United States Government Securities

The Planning Process
Our process of financial planning generally includes these three steps:
- Analyzing your current situation and helping you define your financial goals
- Developing a financial strategy and alternatives based on those goals, your attitude toward risk, and your time horizon.
- Presenting recommendations and actions to implement our plan or advice.
We try to give you a clear understanding of the financial consequences of various alternatives. We recommend specific action and assist you in implementing decisions.
Perhaps the most important benefit of financial planning is the knowledge that your financial affairs are in order and your goals are clearly defined.
We recommend that your financial plan be updated at least once a year. This update will allow us to monitor the performance of your plan and make sure it is in concert with and will continue to meet your initial stated financial goals. Periodically, a consolidated portfolio statement is provided for your review. This report will inform you of the current position of holdings implemented through our firm.
Working With Your Advisors
We work with your advisors such as attorneys, accountants, brokers and bankers. We are not in competition with them. Our function is to coordinate their advice within our financial plan or recommendations to make your assets and income perform most effectively for you.
Implementing Recommendations
You may purchase the same types of investments or insurance products we recommend from other outside sources. Implementation of our recommendations is entirely at your discretion.
Raymond James Financial Services may offer the types of products recommended by us. If our advisory representative is also a representative of Raymond James Financial Services and you purchase the affiliates products, a conflict of interest may exist for us because the recommendation to purchase will result in fees and/or commissions to our advisory representative.
Upon the execution of securities transactions, the broker has the ability to offer discounts of brokerage commissions. In some instances, a broker may purchase or sell securities in his own personal account, that he also recommended to his clients.
In all cases the securities are limited to publicly traded securities.
Analysis
In conjunction with financial planning, we will also analyze your current investment program and make recommendations about retention, disposition or repositioning of investments based on your financial objectives. We do not, however, perform a detailed analysis of particular securities.
Generally, investment strategies are for long term purchases and occasionally may involve shifting from one type of investment to another. Our philosophy, when analyzing various securities, is that the primary emphasis is on the fundamentalist approach (value oriented), with secondary consideration to technical analysis. The main resources in the evaluation process are annual reports, prospectuses, corporate rating services, third party research reports and financial periodicals.
Financial Benefit Services Corporation does not accept discretionary control over a clients portfolio.
Major Concerns
With respect to investment strategy the major concerns include:
INCOME TAX CONSIDERATIONS — Although income tax consequences are important, investment return should be the primary determinant in making recommendations.
RISK RECOGNITION — Investment decisions will be made only after the client understands the risk of capital or market loss and inflation.
INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT — We recommend that the investor use money managers whose funds and/or strategies coincide with their goals, objectives, risk tolerance, and time frame.
ASSET BALANCE — Proper investment planning requires a balance between long and short term liquidity needs, a blend of risk approaches and a combination of growth and income.
DIVERSIFICATION — There are no simple answers to financial security questions in this volatile economy. Diversification in a variety of investments is essential to balance risk with gains.
DISCIPLINE — Prudent investment requires discipline. Hasty decisions can defeat a well-designed investment plan. Any investment strategy must be allowed a reasonable amount of time to achieve results.
