Peter focuses on portfolio construction and management for high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates. As a former financial analyst at S.C. Johnston, he understands how to analyze corporate balance sheets to uncover the truth about a company’s performance. His 25 years as a trust advisor and specialist in segregated portfolios allow him to create solutions for clients on a security-by-security basis, structuring portfolios to meet investors’ evolving needs in concert with changing market conditions.
Peter obtained an Honours Business Degree from the University of Western Ontario Ivey Business School in 1982. Hired in 1985 by Pitfield MacKay Ross (later acquired by RBC Dominion Securities), he quickly established his growing private client base by focusing on his extensive business contacts in the investment banking division and other areas of the firm. As a testament to the integrity and quality of his business practice, he has been a member of the firm’s Chairman’s Council since 1994. He was appointed a Vice-President of the firm in the same year.

John uses sophisticated finance experience to provide personal financial advice for CEOs, business owners, professionals and established families. He has provided individuals, corporations and institutions with financial advice since 1992. He employs both direct securities investment and tax and risk management tools to achieve long-term wealth preservation and growth. John joined The Harbour Group in early 2008, after over 15 years as an investment banker. As a Managing Director in RBC Capital Markets and at Midland Walwyn/Merrill Lynch, he raised capital for private companies and assisted public companies in financings and mergers & acquisitions.
John is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. John holds Securities, Options, Futures and Insurance Licenses. John earned an MSc in Accounting & Finance from The London School of Economics, an MBA from The DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and a BA (Honours) in Commerce & Economics from the University of Toronto. John is Chairman of the Investment Committee of Victoria University in the University of Toronto and is a member of Executive Committee of the Board. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of The United Church of Canada.

Robin joined The Harbour Group as Lead Strategist in 2011 and brings with him nearly ten years of experience at RBC. Robin’s focus is on macro investment strategy and market commentary. He works with the Advisors to provide clients with guidance on asset allocation and sector views along with an outlook on currencies and interest rates. He authors our quarterly Harbour View investment strategy document and our monthly Market Note.
After joining RBC as a member of the firm’s highly regarded Generalist Program, Robin gained experience in the equity portfolio advisory group and with RBC Asset Management’s portfolio managers. He spent the past seven years in progressively senior roles on the RBC DS bond desk and was managing the group at the time of his departure. On the bond desk, Robin specialized in the analysis of interest rates, corporate bonds and preferred shares. He is a member of the RBC Wealth Management Global Portfolio Advisory Committee, which publishes a monthly portfolio strategy document with a global investment focus. Robin holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary and is a CFA charter holder.
